It was a very exciting day at The National today. Hunter rode her Any Given Sunday beautifully in the Maclay Finals. Her first jumping round was flawless. The judges called her back on top! In the flat phase, she looked outstanding. She executed all of the tests correctly. The top 15 returned to jump again. After the flat, she was still on top, returning last! The round was ridden perfectly as well. The judges decided they needed more testing. Hunter traded horses with Tori Colvin. They jumped the same course, Tori returning first. She had a great trip on Sunny. Hunter had another solid round, until the final line. She ended up adding a stride, beautifully. It was an add however, so she ended up second! She held up to the pressure all day. I was very proud of her. A big Congratulations to Tori, she rode very well and deserved to win today!
The courses were excellent with the questions they asked. It was a super competition for the kids to learn and test their skills. It is a wonderful stepping stone to the Young Riders & Under 25 type Championships. The need of riding skills and riding under pressure. It was fun to watch all of the kids ride today.
