I've been in KY at The National Horse Show helping Hunter. Wednesday, she was having a beautiful, fast round in the High Jr A/O Speed on I Love Lucy, around the last turn the mare slipped and went down. Hunter stepped off and was ok. She and Yolo had a clear, medium fast round in the Under 25 class. He was very fresh and she rode him very well to get the clear round.
Yesterday, Lucy jumped a super clear 1st round. Hunter took a shot in the jump off. She had to because 24 were clear. Lucy rubbed the 1st fence and it fell, but the round was excellent. Leaving strides out and turning. They had the winning time and bad luck! They placed 12th. Yolo also jumped a 1st round clear. Hunter went fast and had the time, but he just hit 2 fences. Brian Lookabill asked me to co-commentate on last night's $75,000 Open Jump- Off Class. I did it with Angela Covert and Brian. It was a great class, a few too many clear. Most all of the horses are jumping well here. I had a lot of fun working with those two and sharing my thoughts on the horses and riders! I might do it again.
