This week, two of my former students had great success in the show ring. Katie Cox and Hocus Pocus VH Hof Ter won the Anna B U25 Young Rider Cup at Split Rock Jumping Tour! Hunter Holloway won the $75,000 Tryon Resort Grand Prix with Cassevel and the $25,000 U25 Grand Prix with VDL Bravo S! Congratulations Katie and Hunter!
Last month I traveled to La Baule, France to watch the U.S. riders compete. I was there because I am selector for the U.S. Olympic team for Rio. We had a great showing and result finishing in second place in the Nations Cup.
My students and I had a wonderful time at Garden State last month. I took home the blue ribbon in the Welcome Stake with Armado. Motto was second in the Grand Prix and Armado was fourth. I received the Kastel Denmark Leading Lady Rider Award.
Garden State was a fun and successful show for us. The show itself was full of people young and old really enjoying and having Fun with their horses and ponies!
It was refreshing to watch kids with horses and ponies of all shapes, colors, sizes and breeds, showing, trying, learning, laughing and loving their mounts! I randomly spoke to a few. They had nothing but kind words to say about their horses, no matter if the horses were 18 or 7 years old. They all made me smile and appreciate all that horses do for us!!
